I fished Otter Lake this last weekend. We fished on Saturday and Sunday morning. The fish were really biting on Saturday morning as the storm rolled through to the north. We ended up keeping enough crappies for a couple of meals. We only kept crappies that were 10 inches or bigger. We had all we needed in less than 2 hours. We also went out on Sunday morning. The bite was much slower than on Saturday but after moving locations several times we found some active fish. We kept enough for a meal that evening as fresh fish is always good. We fished in 40 FOW to 9 FOW between the 2 days. Good luck to all and tight lines.

Bluegill Update: Less bluegills this year than I have seen in years prior. We normally always fish bluegills around memorial day, I know controversial because they're easy and on their beds, but its fun. That's probably another reason I think the bluegills here are declining. Guys go almost every day for 2 weeks straight and keep 25 fish daily.

We ended up coming home empty after we had 4 in the livewell and decided to release them after we were done fishing. I did a flyover of parts of the lake, it's a pretty lake I grew up fishing, however I really hate this lake for fishing - Stump City by the way.

Is the ice still safe to drive on after the rain? I usually go off the north landing.

I was out there last Saturday in the morning.  Found the fish in the channel in 13-16ft of water off the bottom. Between 2 guys caught 15 and kept 8 crappies Between 10 to 11 inches.

I reside on the lake and can tell you that the size is only getting smaller.  Fishing has changed over the years.  Plenty of small fish, very, very few to write home about.  Miller Dam is an option.  There are good lakes close by.  If you venture out south end landing is rough, but doable.  Far south end always holds bigger fish.  That is where i fish.  Near the aerators.

Anyone know if theres still good sized fish in this lake? Fished it last weekend 10-15 different spots caught a ton but all were dinks, looking just to get a meal and have some fun.
