Fantastic fishing this morning! (7-8-23)
Lines set by 4:20 AM in 80 fow.
Spent all day fishing 80-115 fow. Surface temps were 65-67 and had a good temp break down 50 feet. (50-55 degrees)
Got bites from 25-75 down, but best action was in the bottom half of the water column.
From 4:20- 6:45 we went 10 for 14 with 9 kings and 1 steelhead coming boatside.

Late report from 6-24-23 Algoma
Set up lines in 80’ around 4:00am heading NE, first 2 fish came in 95’ on 5 & 10 color. Circled back around and got one on 150 copper & 8 color. The shallow (100-120) bite pretty much ended for us around 6:30-7:00am but we stuck it out most of the morning with no results until we pulled the plug at 11:00am.
Enjoy the video!!

Almost had the stench of skunk coming from my boat out of Kewaunee. Getting ready to quit on a nice night when the frosted/green dodger with blue fly on the 85 foot deep rigger popped! 14 pound king stripped out line but finally netted the first salmon of the year for me. We trolled out to 200 FOW but slowly swerved in to 120 where we saw more fish on the finder. Glad we did. Saw service trucks by the cleaning station heading out and yellow tape blocking the use of it when we got back after paying the new higher 10 dollar fee.. BUMMER !
Started off the morning targeting 150-170’ for the early morning king bite then moved out to 250-280’. Wire diver mag dipsy setting 3 FF 80-100’ was good. 150 copper, 5 color, 8 color, 10 color ?all took fish. Spoon color didn’t seem to matter much as long as you were in the top 50’
North/ south troll was key for us
Enjoy the video and happy fishing!

Caught a couple of chubby 30 inch rainbows this evening just north of Algoma in around 200FOW. Fished nice conditions and glassy seas from 3-7 pm. PK had a hit and miss on the planer board with a purple/green spoon with purple ladder back so I put the same color on my 3 color lead core planer board. Landed the next two fish on both boards and then had a break off with the next one. Nothing on dypsies or riggers. A couple who fished out deeper landed 8 of 9 for their bows and guys who fished the morning shift lucked out with some cohos and bows. Nice first trip out on a beautiful day. Surface temps were in the mid 60's.
