Trout Lake

Morning started good with is 22” walleye on a jerk minnow. Crappie and perch rest of morning son lost 2 small mouth bass next to boat and had favorite lure bite off by ???  1 more report for tonight. 

May flies really coming on now. Water temp 59-61 around lake was high of 64 on Tues. strong NE wind with misty today. Caught my first crappie ever on Trout solid 10”. Son caught 21.5 walleye on rattle trap perch color today. ?

Ouch that is too bad. Was hoping to come up and hit Trout after a dismal fishing opener out there. May have to try other waters until the hatch ends. 

Mayflies are here. With warmer weather water temp now 64 was 59 on Mon. Fishing has been tough 1 here 1 there no keeps since the weekend. Small perch on leeches no other live bait working

Fished Monday evening June 5 through Friday morning June 9.  Fishing was very good even with the sunny conditions.  Water temp around 69-72 depending on the day.  Started noticing may flies on Friday before we left.  32 eyes for this period with 28 being over 16 inches.  4 musky and had follow from another 4 fish with one being in the 45inch range.  Fished mostly in 5-15FOW.  No live bait, most fish cough on cranks.  Also around 30 sm on top water or swimbaits.   

Water temp 67 most of north lake.  NE wind cold with misty rain drops Arrived 4 fish on 4:30 son caught these in 10 min then nothing will hit hard today. 28” pike 20”walleye 

Will be up for  a week will post through out. What’s water temp any mayfly yet?

Old Rocky Reef:

Ben here!!! I wondered if you got old and disappeared... Don't post much any more, still try to get on and read every now and then. Our classmate crew did our 30-somethingth year staying at Rocky Reef again. Didn't fish as living here still requires a bit of work, but the boys did ok before the cold front, then the bottom fell out. Got lucky enough to have our annual fish fry.
