Trout Lake

You can get access to the buoy data at
limnology.wisc.edu. There are 3 buoys you can connect to, one is the Trout Lake buoy. Just bookmark it or keep it in your favorites on your phone. It’s pretty cool really.

Water temp is 43 degrees this morning. You can access the buoy owned by UW Madison limnology dept on your cell phone. Gives a live look at current water temperatures anytime you want to know.

Had 44.5 last night and dirty water

Any word on if the whitefish have moved to spawning areas yet? 

Anybody having any luck on Trout recently? Been a different year for me on this lake. Caught lots of big fish in 2022 but they have been slot fish at best this year. Really not many if any over that. Have done better on eater fish this year but even that has been hit or miss at times. Weeds were desimated because of last years winter and snow. Hopefully those have bounced back some for winter fishing. 

Fished Trout this morning. Found fish in 20 to 25 ft of water on gravel.  Caught ?4 slot fish and two keepers...Fun morning.

Sorry for late report had motor issues. Beautiful night fishing was ok snake northern and 12 SMB about 7:30 wanted to move boat would not start. We were staying on north lake and we’re by Miller island on south lake after 30 min finially got started shut it down for week. Made great memories with brother and son
