Skim ice starting to develop in the channels
Hopefully any more ice will hold off until after Tuesdays 6 -10 INCHES of snow. Then it looks like 5 days of good ice making conditions 
I really need to go pike fishing...need a couple to make my infamous pickled pike..

It was close to 50° this week. Of course there’s no ice yet. The geese are the only thing keeping the outlet open right now. Give it 2 weeks with the present temperatures and it’ll be locked up and ready to go 

In case someone else was curious  - Drove along North Shore drive to Inn Between Bar this afternoon.  No ice anywhere except tiny bit on west side of bridge.  Bait shop reported zero ice.

The launch at Community Park is wide open. There is no ice present in the channel whatsoever 

Havent checked but you may be able to launch off Gill rd if channel iced in

Does anyone know if it's feasible to launch tomorrow early afternoon? I'm assuming we're in fishing limbo with too much ice in the channel to launch, and not enough to walk on. Any intel is greatly appreciated. This sucks.

ice maniac - went ice fishing on delevan 3 times and never had any luck. Usually a bunch of people too, mostly on the south west side of the lake. I do hear of people catching fish but just cant seem to get them myself. I have much better luck in the spring and fall from the boat. But if ​its not a far drive for you id say ​atleast give it a ​chance.

how is the crappie fishing here? or panfish in general? trying to find a good ice lake this winter.

Docks in last weekend. Water temp 51. Big gills shallow.
