Sunny 65°
Water: 72°
Been here since 6/2. Water temp got to 80. At this point around 72 with cooler evenings.
Only fishing at this point for panfish for freezer. Gill bulls still protecting nests right tight up to shore. Have to pick through them but they are there yet. Small leeches and gulp minnows work well.
Mosquitos are incredible. Need to get "dipped" in OFF.
Tight lines!

Weed Beds
Fished the past Memorial Day week. Looking for walleye I would say they are for sure in a summer pattern. Water is very warm for this time of year at 67-70. Look in deep water during the day and weeds at dark. Found many bigger fish this year and released 3 at 20+. Bluegills are plentiful but seem smaller in size, same with Northerns. Watch out for mosquitoes, they are un-real this year.

Hello All,

When do the Crappies move to the bogs and how long does that bite last.  The wife wants to come up for some Crappie fishing and is fascinated by the bogs.

Thanks for your help.

That sounds like last year. You have to "squeeze" between the rocks and bog. I was hoping the higher water might have allowed it to move out.
Water was low most of last year.

Any news on the BOG location by the bridge? It was at the bridge most of last season. Did the recent high water get it to move out???

It can be a great place to fish, tons of places to try. Don't let its size scare you, start small don't try to fish it all. Weed lines and drop offs have always been great to me. Good luck.

I have never fished the Chippewa Flowage, but am headed there mid-July to do some fishing.  Would anyone be willing to give some insight?  We'll be chasing anything that swims!
Thank you in advance.
