When I was a kid we would drift over the deepest part of the lake and catch bluegill suspended 15 - 25 feet down.
A leaf worm with a waxy on same hook.

Printmaker,  I've had great success vertical jigging suspended bluegills.
With decent electronics (Lowrance hook reveal) you can locate schools from 12-25 feet of water.
Use a heavier ice jig with a small Gulp Alive minnow and keep it just above the school and watch for the hit.
Be sure to put a swivel between your main line and a 2-3' leader to prevent line twist.
Good luck!

Bullheads are considered a catfish and there are plenty of those in Nags.

Having lived and fished on the lake for over 20 years I had never heard of trout being stocked or caught, so I looked it up on the DNR website. Sure enough in 2020 they stocked 6,011 rainbow trout yearlings. Still have not caught one nor have I heard of one caught.

CM, no catfish that I am aware of. Lac Labelle is your best bet for that in this area but I believe there are some restrictions so read the regs.

I've actually never fished the kettle, though I hear a lot about it. I've been able to target and pattern walleye out on the main lake moderately well given that I've fished the lake only a hand full of times. I've released a few nice fish and I guess I just wanted to know if I was "helping the gene pool".
