Lake Michigan, Sheboygan

Went to my waypoints from Friday, a easy limit of coho’s there, clouds of baitfish, and only one fish. I have never seen that much bait. No wonder I only got one fish. 60 FOW way south. Guess that’s fishing not catching. 

Went 5 for 7 this AM fishing solo. Way way south in 60FOW.  5 coho’s and the 2 got aways were another  coho and a really big steelhead. Top 30FOW, stinger spoons and small dodger flies on leadcore got all the bites.

Caught a limit of mostly smaller Cohos and Kings this morning on a variety of lures including one wierdo bait. One on a spoon and every thing else included a dodger, all but one dodger being bright orange. Caught a limit last year the early June from the Sheboygan launch but that time all the fish were 4 year old fish other than a Lake trout, a link to that video at the end of this fast moving video short movie.

We crushed the coho for a week, but they disappeared on Friday and it doesn't look like anyone has had much success since.

Coho fishing is pretty good out of Kenosha south to state line ! Coho rigs with 00 orange dodgers and flies are the ticket right now . Alewives , in close 20-40 foot depths, mid 40's Water temps, many limits ,some faster than others ! Many coho reports from just south of the border were reporting limiting out in less than 2 hours ! Cohos are eating there way north now over the IL.
border eating spawning alewives as the water temps permit ! Now is the time to hit the lower harbors like Kenosha !
