There are some very noticeable differences between the two. A) white bass are generally larger with more defined markings and B) the bottom jaw of the white perch gets a cool purple/lilac color.

Fished for a day and a half and ended up with 7 eyes. 5 nice eaters and two released. Fished any where from 16 to 23 feet. Question for any one. Is this normal to catch white perch after white perch out there or is this just the time of year? We had to constantly  check lines. At one point we had all six boards with them on. We trolled from north of Dykesville all the way to south of Bay shore and could not get away from them. I am guessing we caught well  over 50 of them (honestly probably closer to 100) in the 14-16 hors of trolling. Trolled cranks at 2.0 to 2.5mph.
Good luck to all! In Good Sports - FishScale

Any reports for Oconto? Trying to decide if it's worth the trip. It might be a little rough tomorrow with the east wind.

Thanks

Great walleye fishing continues, with a variety of presentations and size in walleyes! Last week we found a mix of smaller and bigger walleyes on sgoals and rocks along both shorelines. We trolled these fish with crankbaits, using planer boards at 2-2.2mph with snap weights to get baits down deep and without weights when positioning baits higher in the water column. On Thursday my group wanted perch, so we used slip bobbers and crawler pieces to put well over 100 perch in the boat, with the group keeping their limit of 9.5”-12” beautiful perch! On Friday we hit shallow rock and weed areas, pitching soft plastics on jigs along with ripper minnows and spoons to over 25 walleyes. There’s several great bites going now!!
I have a couple openings in August and September. Message me if you’re interested. Capt Jerry.

Going out for walleye wednesday afternoon. I dont fish walleye very often. Anyone have any tips where to start? I will be most likely trolling for them. Running crankbaits more than likely
