Spent the morning on Kegonsa, taking advantage of the nice clear water and light winds! Shot nine videos of different structures and identified some other earlier sonar hits. Checked two groups of cribs on opposite ends of the lake, and both were barren. Did see some smaller SMB on other kinds of structure. In 20+ foot marked lots of fish, but only saw Carp and Sheepshead on the camera. Some schools I'm sure were panfish and tried to identify what a couple were, but they were on the move and I had other things I wanted to get done so I didn't look too long. Water temp on the north and south ends of the lake was 60.6°F. Deep basins clarity wasn't as good as I'd hoped. Lots of algae/particulates in the water column, but with the sun videos should still have come out clear. Nice day to be out there!

That's right, I remember that! Yes Sunnyside especially, had real high water, but I think the sand bags kept the houses from flooding.  The creek near sunnyside flooded, which then in turn flooded that whole area.

If you want to research, a good spot to start are the FOLKS newsletters (Friends of Lake Kegonsa).  Go to the newsletter part of their website (http://kegonsa.org/newsletters.html).  Check the summer/fall of 2018.

If I recall, Sunnyside and Williams Point had it bad.  I'm not sure if any houses were damaged, but they were dropping sandbags everywhere.

Kegonsa had real high water, but I don't think it ever reached any of the homes on the lake.  I attached a markup (the red areas) where, approximately, the homes are not on high ground.  I have a member of the church I go to that lives on the lake but they're up on high ground.  The water did get into their boat house, but I think that's as far as it got anywhere on the lake.  I used to live on the Yahara River in Monona where the houses are REALLY low, and even there my home never flooded, just some of my lawn was under water.

Anyone know what streets, neighborhoods experienced flooding in 2018. Was the lake over its banks? Thanks

On Kegonsa this afternoon. Water temp at 48.9°F. Water clarity good in shallows but lots of filamentous algae present. Deeper water marked tons of schools of fish. Lots of algae/particulates in deeper water. Saw one SMB cruising on a shallow rock bar. Shot some video of three large cribs in deeper water that had a Walleye by it.
