I went out for a few hours each of the last two Saturdays to fish from the docks. Few fishermen and nobody catching. A few fish seen cruising around but no takers.

Out today fishing the gaps targeting lakers, but we'll sometimes catch a burbot or two as well. . Not today though. Only boated one laker and one brown. Water temp at 41 degrees.

Went out for Burbot on Saturday night from 5 to 10.
Fished under the hoan bridge.
Others were out also.
We caught zero.
We saw no one else hook up either.

Some guys will take advantage of a good jigging or casting bite this time of year.. There are generally good numbers of browns and lakers in and around the harbor to be caught, and even burbot. With that said, there are those still inclined to troll in the harbor, and fish can certainly be caught that way too. Personally, I prefer switching it up and using spinning gear to jig them up instead, with plastics and jigging spoons. Shoot me a PM if you have any other questions.

Ive never fished the harbor this time of year. Are there fish to be caught trolling the harbor right now? If so, what do you expect to catch and what types of lures work best?

Thanks for the report. Was going to fish the harbor yesterday, but decided on one more outing for walleye on the Rock. Plan to hit the harbor a couple times before winter really sets in.
