They are catching everything that bites in that marina
Perch crappie walleye gill’s Muskie
Tried the evening bite today. We fished 3:30 - 6:00 in about 10 FOW. Marked lots of fish but managed only 2 walleye. Wonderbread jigging spoon with minnow head and Pink jigging rap. Fair amount of water on top of the ice at the landing but had at least 5" of ice depth.
@jasonemt. Move up river a bit. Go out of ashwaubomay park or fox point launch. Current should slow down a bit. Problem is the ice isn't holding up. The channel will be frozen over at 700 am. But by 1200 there'll be pond sized pockets of open water. Super sketchy in my opinion. Not a good year for river fishing.
Went out of voyager to check the ice this afternoon.
Still open water up by the dam but further north it’s froze all the way across.
Was using the spud every step I took and the thinnest I came across was 3”.
Planning to get out tomorrow to see if there are some hungry walleyes around.
Definitely should use a spud if you go out.
Tight lines, stay safe
