Hey All. Did end up getting out to Yellowstone. Caught one Carp, about a 10-pounder. 'Proof of concept' fish. Hoping to try again in the Spring. Was wondering if all that shoreline growth above the dam re-grow every year? Like is it pretty clear in the Spring until it warms up? Beautiful spot. Great looking lake.
I've also heard rumblings about the carp/buff population tearing the lake up. A state biologist said that based on some nets they pulled, there's 2,000,000lbs of them in the lake and it's messing up water clarity/bottom structure.
I plan on coming down this Spring to bowfish and get some of them out of there.
If anyone's local to the lake (I'm in Sun Prairie) that'd be willing to clue me in when the ice is out and water clarity I would appreciate it. Would save me several hours drive time.
Shoot me a private message, or we can exchange email addresses. Whatever is best for you.

Hey All. I've been told by a few people that you've got a bit of a Carp problem. Not sure there's much I, or any angler, can do to fix that. But was hoping to come down sometime and battle a few. Do people mostly fish them off that berm on the Southeast end of the lake, near the spillway? Any other areas accessible from shore where they might be found in good numbers, near parking, and without lines getting in the way of boats? Thanks for any info.
