privateer no more than a half hour drive from rainbow park to eureka. Yes there are boat landings in eureka and all are good to go for your boat as of now....I prefer the landing in the inlet though. It is a short ride up river to get to the dam from there. As of now though you can anchor just about anywhere on the river and get white bass.

Quick question for anyone to answer...I'm familiar with rainbow park area to fish but would like to know how far is the eureka dam from this area? Is there a boat launch there and is it deep enuff to launch a deep v boat there? Being from out of town, I would like to try other areas other than rainbow park or senior center all the time. Thanx a lot, much appreciated.

anybody have any idea how to keep the damn white bass of a hook long enough to catch a few walters? This is getting ridiculous!!! Doesn't matter what is thrown white bass hit it. It doesn't matter size. Buddy was pulling them in throwing large tandom for northern on twenty pound test. They were fun the first few weeks of the run but im ready for the to stop biting till next year!!! Worms on jigs are getting sheeps and leaches aren't producing.

Musky, No, Yes, and Yes. If you want white bass, go to the Wolf anywhere in Fremont, north or south. Off shore, not too busy during the week, on the weekend rainbow might be better.

Was out again this morning and had a cooler full of WB by 9:15 am. Eggs were a lot softer today and the average size was a little smaller. Different spot, different day, different time. ?? Still a good time fishing and a lot of fillets for the guys at work. Almost all females. Another day or two and the docks, in the bay part of the launch, will be out of the water.

Hammered the White bass today. Tried several spots and did not do a lot. Then I hit a spot and stated pulling them in on every cast, often doubles. My dad was 1 mile down from me doing the same thing. Big females and not very many males. Then Sum-dumb-guy parked above me and kept casting right in front of my boat where I was fishing. Throwing big pencil weights into the school spooking them. The action moved down stream and he kept casting PAST my boat till the school left all together. Still filled 2 coolers. Sad thing is what he is teaching his kids and it wasn't the kids casting in front and past me.

Out toady by the dam, lots of icebergs so be careful. Caught a few eyes but they weren't jumping in the boat.
