Fished yesterday, Crappie piled up in warm water under docks. Was real odd though because there was one particular dock that they really liked. They also were really REALLY picky. Only minnows and preferably rosies and you were basically sight fishing, you had to see them take because if they felt a bobber they were gone.
Kayaked a Waukesha County lake today from 11:30-4. I thought I'd be able to find crappies and decent bluegills but couldn't locate either. The tiny gills I did see were super picky. I was tossing ice jigs tipped with waxies and I might as well have been ice fishing. Really had to coax them in to get a bite. As the day went on and the sun warmed things up a bit I gave up on the panfish and went after bass. Ended up with seven 1-2 pounders on a variety of ned rig presentations. Saw some really nice ones swimming around as well. Nice day to be out.
On at 8, off at 2. Water 54 on start, 57, when we left. Finely, found some one to get out with. Then the weather sucks. Wind blew us off the lake again. Found a little quiet water. Well, not real quiet, but we could fish. Again, 200 gills. Not a one made 7 inches. I went through 102 wax worms. But the good news. We picked up a dozen keeper crappies. Nothing over 11/1/2. Same as last time. We had to down size our presentation at the start. But as the water warmed up, we were back to full size at the end.Always nice to get out, in the really fresh air.
Best of luck to all. [email protected]

Sunny 75°
Was out Sunday on a small SE WI lake, figured the warmth and wind would have the fish active. Tried deeper weed edges first as usual but did not locate any fish. Went shallow and found them against the bank and reed grass. The key was to practically drop a topwater lure on them to get a reaction strike. Was in the kayak so did not get a water temp.
