CM, start with learning Reuben's Train. My personal favorite. Catfish Dave uses it a lot in his videos.

Had some cabin fever tonight so decided to go to Waterford an hour before dark.  Caught two nice cats; biggest is pictured below, and a red horse.  All caught with a 1/4 ounce jig and yellow twister tail.  Last fish of 2023.  Hope 2024 brings some good fishing.  Happy New Year!

Happy Holidays everyone, not a report just a fun update from Cat Man JJ.
This started out with getting my granddaughter a guitar for Christmas and I mentioned to my daughter that maybe I would like to try to learn guitar and she suggested a banjo.
The idea of me paddling up the fox river and pulling the banjo out and playing dueling banjos from the deliverance movie was too much for my brain to handle and I got on my computer and had Santa put one on his sled for me.
So I've got about 5 or 6 months to learn how to play a few songs on the banjo, wish me luck I'm gonna need it.

Nice TD!  You always seem to do well!!! I've tried a couple of times for eyes and got skunked!!!

The warm weather today made me wish I had not put my boat away!

Took a half day of lost time from work, and headed out on the river with a buddy.

Tried three river spots.  Struck out at spot one, struck out at spot two, found some active Crappie at spot 3.

Was just awesome to be soft water fishing in mid December!

Made it out for about an hour Saturday before the parade. Water has cleared up considerably since the last time I was out and that makes this shallow river a little more challenging. I did manage a few 12-14” eyes on plastics but couldn’t find anything bigger.

Brent, another great report! Nice work.

Made it out today with a close bud for a few hours.

Spent a bit of time looking for them, and was able to find some cooperative fish.

Plastics out fished live bait 5:1.  Got bit off twice which I'm guessing were Pike or Bowfin. Never saw them, so a guess is all I have lol!

Caught Perch, Yellow Bass, Rockies, LM Bass, Crappie, Gills, and Pumkin Seeds.

Kept enough for dinner, rest are still swimming.

Good luck to anyone hunting tomorrow - Gonna try fishing again!

Using a crankbait on the river beginning just north of the marina and slow motoring to Tichigan Lake can be a great trip.  I have fished cranks at different times during the summer and found bass and walleyes.  There are a few spots with rocks, but most are marked with a buoy.  I use medium depth (4' to 6') and even shallow runners close to shore.

Curious if you can troll the river part north of waterford to Tichigan with small cranks  or too much garbage on bottom?

Brent, what an incredible day you had! Nice work!!

I’ve been chasing eyes on the Mississippi and up in Green Bay lately but decided to go out tonight on the Fox in in the rain.
The bite was real light today as I missed quite a few.
I downsized my presentation but that didn’t help.
Ended up with a little smallie, some yellows and only 2 eyes, a little 12”er that came off as it got to me and a better one I was able to get a pic of.

My son goes Fox river fishing.  Gets big bass.  A nice pic is taken and fish swims away.  I encourage him to send photo into  one of the local
contests.  'Nah, no time.'  Then I see he was selected as a Kwik Trip winner!  Breakfast on you, kid!
