Good job Brent. Way to go on the multi-species! I got out today on shore with my autistic adult son. We were targeting cats. Caught 4 and kept 3. One was too big, around 5 pounds. I also managed to hook a painted pond turtle in the mouth (I could have the species wrong). Lucky for me he was barely hooked and popped off next to shore. We fished from 4-6 pm and it was a nice coolish breezy afternoon cattin session. Ona sad note, there was beer cans and litter all over the spot we were on. I didn't have anything to bag it all up with. I plan on going back next week and cleaning the area up. I don't understand humans I guess. How can people be such utter slobs? It's a very nice shore spot that produces consistently. I wouldn't be surprised if it gets marked No Trespassing at some point. It is public for now. That can change under the right circumstances.

Nine different species again Brent that's pretty awesome.
What you need to do is get some other boats/teams and do a multi species fishing competition.

Made it out with my youngest today, we had a fun day with each other!

The Fox was kind today.  Caught a little bit of everything.  Walleye, kitties, Yellow Bass, Crappie, Rockies, Smallies, LM Bass, Gills, and Drum.

Funny, I put a little red bead on my line at the end of my Carolina Rig, and caught 3 Crappie on crawler halves.

Caught everything on Carolina Rigs and crawler halves under a float.

Saw lots and lots of Yaks and canoes out there today.  Good to see the river being used / enjoyed by so many folks!

Had a gill that didn't make it, so ended up adding to it, and kept enough for for dinner.

Will be interesting to see how the kitty tastes.  He was a good eater size.  Went light on the fillet knife, and cut out silver meat, red meat, and mud vein.

Tree fall was the ticket, had to keep moving.  Each spot held a few, then died off quick.

Very nice day out there, and was great to hang with my son for a bit!

Also caught the cutest Smallie ever lol

There are lots of good public places on the Fox.

Off the top of my head in Waterford:

*Club 10 Park

*Case Eagle (both above and below the dam)

*Park at intersection of Hwy W and Hwy D

*Old fire station / parking lot near 2nd street

*Village Hall Park / Boat landing

*Behind library

*River Bend Park

*Whitfield Park

*Bike trail down river from Case Eagle

*Under Hwy 20 bridge

I know I'm missing a few spots too.

I should mention that there is a Yak and canoe launch at Case Eagle and Village Hall park.

Lots of opportunity....

It will take a bit of trial and error to find what works where, but the opportunity is there.

I wanted to try that area because it looked good with easy access and i used to do well years ago above Riverside park up by Browns Lake golf course.
That stretch of river from Hy W to Riverside park is some of the best catfishing you'll find on the Fox river.
It would be a great float on a kayak, too bad i don't own one.
There was a post a while back about Behind Charcoal Grill being a good spot but if you want to fish anywhere around that railing you better have a long net or a net on a rope because i brought a 10' net and couldn't fish there.

Catman

Even with the low water, the Rochester dam usually has some “resident fish” that seem to hang out there.  I haven’t been there in a while, but it may be worth a try.
Good luck!

Those spots are way too shallow right now. Walked around Burlington yesterday. Clear water and sun showed most of the river everywhere was 2ft deep or less.

Cat fished Burlington the last two Saturday evening without catching a fish.
6/10 Wehmhoff Jucker park, some little bait stealers getting my cut bait but no fish to show for it.
6/17 behind Adrian's frozen custurd a couple nibblers but none that would commit.
That area looks good on google satellite but maybe it just doesn't have any deeper pools, even that bend in the river behind Adrian's i don't think is that deep. I used to be kind of good at fishing and i'm now on a streak of four outings without catching a fish.
Starting to think about taking up a new hobby, maybe something like rock hounding or Frisbee golf.

Great day on the river!

Caught a 19.5 inch eye (biggest of the year for us on the Fox), some 7-9 inch Gills, Rockies, Drum, and a pile of smallish LM and Smallies.

Average LM and Smallie size was 14 or so, with the biggest being 16.  Was quantity over quality today, but was nice to see a range of 5 inch to 16 inch Smallies in the system.

Boated 30+ fish today, was a bunch of fun!

Everybody is still swimming, and water level is low.

Caught most fish on a Carolina rig tipped with a crawler half.

Made it out with a good bud from work this afternoon..

Smallies, Gills, Rockies, Yellow Bass, and Drum,

No eyes or kitties today which surprised me a bit.

Ned rigs and Carolina rigs tipped with crawler halves.

Fun afternoon!

Bunch of fun today.

Eyes, Crappie, Gills, Smallies, LM Bass, Drum, and Rockies.

The crappie was as big as I've seen on the Fox, she measured 15.

Carolina rigs, swim bait, and a bit of good ole fashioned bobber fishing.

Everybody is still swimming.  Quit fishing when the crawlers ran out!

It was pretty hot out there, started and finished early!

Had a fun day on the river.

Ned Rigs, Carolina Rigs, and minnows under a float.

Fishing wasn't on fire, but enough to keep a guy's interest.

Caught a dozen or so Rockies, 1 Walleye, couple gills, 2 LM Bass, and around 6 smallies.

First outing of the year on the Fox with two close buds.
