It's been a great year for eyes SV!

We had been catching some every trip until mid-July, last two trips no eyes, but did get one yesterday, first place we stopped.

Most eyes this year are 18+, they had been running 15-17 last year. Biggest was 19.5 this year.

Also, five years ago big yellow bass were plentiful, after the last draw down they disappeared.  This year we've been catching a lot of little yellows, that makes me smile, they are such a good eating fish, and scrappy!

Went out again today, no smallies, they 100% shut down as compared to yesterday.  Did catch a bunch of Gills, Rockies, and two kitties, both about this size.

Man they put up a heckuva battle for their size!  Kinda like smallies!  Powerful fish!

I was supposed to go up north on Thursday, but it was a hectic day at work, so I ended up staying at home this weekend.

Got up pretty early this morning and got caught up on everything, and took a half-day vacation and hit the water with my neighbor (close fishing bud)

Fishing was really fun today! Definitely had the bases covered as far as bass go.  LM, SM, Yellow, and Rock Bass. Also caught walleye, catfish, and bluegills.  A bit of sorting with the Gills, but caught quite a few 8 inchers.  Kept enough for dinner this eve.

My new fish basket floats, that turned out to be a pretty good deal!  My fishing buddy told me as we were leaving our second spot "Hey, your basket is floating over there".  Can definitely say the floating ones are worth the extra couple of bucks! Especially if your all thumbs like me!

Crawler half's under a float and Carolina rigs.  I went through about 2 1/2 dozen crawlers.

Was an algae bloom going on in some areas, it was pretty thick!  Other areas were 100% normal.

Think we'll be out tomorrow too, was a pretty solid day, and the fish were active and hungry.

Brent, you of all people should know to tie that 6 foot piece of rope to the basket, lol.
Don't worry, I've done that myself.....

I see that the water’s back to its normal low.   As far as the live bag goes selling the non floaters keeps them in business lol.

RR, went to Dunham's after fishing, and that is exactly what I did.

They shouldn't even make the other ones lol!

And just like that Carpio the water level is back down. The drainage district must have opened the dam big time!

Was one of those days...

Got down to my boat this morning to find it full of water, I forgot to take the plug out last time I went out.

After an hour or so of water removal and clean-up, I was back in business.

I recently purchased a fish finder, so I thought I would start the morning by motoring slow to see what I could see. I Was pretty excited, as I found an 18 foot hole, with some of the best structure I'd ever seen.  After about two minutes, I figured out that somehow I had my fish finder in demo mode, so it was just showing me how cool it's graphics could be lol! What a disappointment :) Definitely a dunce moment!

Fishing started out slow, but I finally found what I was looking for, some panfish for dinner.  I kept six, which is enough for my wife and I. When I grabbed the fish basket, it slipped out of my hand, and down it went with my dinner.  That really bothered me, not so much the bait basket, but the fact that I accidentally wasted 6 fish.  If you kill something you should eat it!!!! I tried to snag it for quite sometime, but to no avail!

Caught LM, SM, and Rock Bass, Gills, Warmouth, and Drum.  The  LM and SM were little guys.  The pannies were good eaters, at least they looked like they would be!

Water was 80, current wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be.

I just came up from the lake and it looked like the level is up around 4 inches!   Hard to believe.      A lot of water in a short time so I expect the river and lake to continue rising. A lot of rain north of us will dump into the FOX.

Last night's storms were really something!

Going to head out on the river in a few. Looking at the water level, the current might really be zipping!

It went up pretty quick!

Explored some areas of the Fox we had not tried yet, was very cool. Had to pull up a map on my phone to figure out exactly where we were at lol!

It was variety day today.  LM Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Kitties, Rockies, Gills, Drum, and carp.

So much fun! Crawler halves were the ticket.

2nd trip this year without an eye!  We had been doing well on eyes, but they've  gone into hiding!

Thank you Bullman!

If you could please, post the banquet date on this thread a few months prior!

I'm betting we can make this year even bigger than last year.  The stocking that Pishtaka does positively impacts the Fox from after the Waukesha dam all the way to the Rochester dam! Lots of folks enjoy the river between the two and would love to support!

Thank you!
