Only saw ice on about half the area yesterday so I'd assume only maybe an inch formed. Definitely needs time.

Slow action today, i know of two other fish caught just in the morning. I managed female on crankbait. Its full of eggs, way more than i need, if anyone wants any pm me and ill cut a deal, id hate to see it go to waste as i wont use this much in the next few years. Im currently scraping half and leaving the other half on skein and will be using boraxofire on both.
Had a good day wednesday fishing shallow around the harbor. Caught most on dodger flies and green spoons. With the warming water seems that going deep will soon be the plan of attack for catching silver as the bait finishes spawning in shallow and moves offshore. Racine May-10 Wednesday
I fished Racine on Wed with a 3 person crew with calm wind and flat seas. Setup just north of the river mouth on a south troll at 5:30am in 25fow. We worked from there down to the cove and were able to pick away at them for most of the morning with heavy boat traffic for a Wednesday. Water temps were about 52 on the surface with 48 down 10ft. Took fish on riggers, dipsys, and wide lines in the top 10ft, finishing 9 for 10 with all coho. Best baits were Hud spoon copper/orange on rigger down 15, and alderton flasher with red/blk 2" fly.
Took an afternoon nap and headed back out in the evening, not expecting the same bite, and we were right. We decided to do some scouting as well, so we powered over to wind point and worked the 20-30ft range finding most of the bait on the south side of the point. The water temp was now up to 54 in some places and the bait was still around, but more scattered from shore out to 40ft, where ever there was a reef or some significant structure. No takers off the point, so we went back over near the cove and picked up 2 coho, but the bite was not as good and the boats that were out working the harbor area soon scattered to search for fish. We did the same and trolled around the reef as far as 50fow, but had no more takers.
Coho were mostly in the 1-3 ?pound range, so we kept the bigger ones of the day.
?Up north cutting trees this weekend, hope to get out ?for an evening trip next week.

I got out for a couple of hours on Wed night. Fished mainly between the river and about 1/2 mile south in 20-35 fow. Hooked 2 coho in the first 35 minutes, then did not take another hit. Water temps were still very cold. Much better bite south of Racine I hear.
