free fishing weekend
we found 9-10 inches of ice. 
9-fow, small gills, crappie, northern, bass, perch,
a few fat keepers, catch and release. an active weekend for what was forecast as single star (poor fishing days), windy 
here just a couple pics.

was hoping to walk out on webers point tomorrow sounds like west side is garbage. ​

He said no vehicles yet. It's very inconsistent all over. 

Thanks Lifted! He didn't happen to say if there are trucks out there, did he? Coming out tomorrow and setting up my overnight for the first time. Don't want to drag all the gear out by hand.

Had a buddy out today. In 12fow he had 12/13. Not gonna give an exact location on the lake but just cecil side. Can't speak for west side tho I assume crap like it always is. Gl guys. 

Any updates on current ice thickness in Cecil bay? 

Shawano Lake fishing reports on Fbook reports 7-9" out in front of Bamboo and 11" in Cecil Bay. Be safe! 

just sharing what I found whilst.
checking the ice off county park.
shoreline is pushed up white ice, the shore slush has frozen.
drilled several holes, 7 inches to 9 inches on ice,
when drilling in the snow-covered areas six inches,
also broke thru a layer while walking (looked good) but had 4 inches of water between the layers of ice and snow. the ice is irregular very rippled on top and slippery! snow covered areas can have slush and water underneath, stay alert be careful have fun.

I am not sure about the rest of the Lake, I just know Cecil Bay was thick. I measured with my tape measure so it is accurate. I though there would be more snow ans it was gonna insulate the ice from getting thicker but the wind helped keeping the snow clear on Cecil Bay. Have not been further out than that so I do not know full Lake Ice conditions.

Instead of relying on posts for accurate info, just call a local baitshop. They're going to be honest, it's good for business.
